HRPA TORONTO – PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT EVENT

Emmanuel gave a presentation on Resilience in the Workplace for Human Resource Professionals Association (HRPA) in Toronto Canada. He shared lived-experience stories on depression and movie tips for increasing resilience and indestructible optimism in the workplace and in life.

CITY OF VAUGHAN – INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

Emmanuel gave a keynote presentation on Top Inspiring Women in the Movies for women leaders of the City of Vaughan. Films discussed included Erin Brockovich, Julie & Julia and It’s a Wonderful Life. A fun, interactive group exercise was also included as an ice-breaker opportunity.

INVESTORS GROUP – LUNCH & LEARN

Emmanuel presented an inspiring Lunch & Learn talk on Resilience for managers and their teams at the Investors Group. This included a discussion of motivational movie heroes from films such as The Shawshank Redemption, Groundhog Day and Rudy.

THE NEW YORK TIMES – EMMANUEL LOPEZ FEATURED

Motivatorman was featured in The New York Times article called “Who Will Be Oprah’s Last Star?” He was the only Canadian featured. In the interview Emmanuel shared that he dreamed of being interviewed by Oprah so he could share how movies and writing his movie blog had saved his life during times of depression, bankruptcy and near homelessness.
